With landscapes full of contrasts and colors, calm and crystal clear waters and distinctive natural beauty, Alagoas holds, with charm and property, the title of state with the most beautiful beaches in the northeastern of Brazil. Located in one of the privileged points of the Brazilian coast, Alagoas is bor- dered by the states of Pernambuco, Bahia and Sergipe.
Featuring good daily flights, the Zumbi Airport, located in the capital of Maceió, receives flights from the main Brazilian capitals with short term. The duration of a flight São Paulo- Maceio, for example, is only two and half hours. Starting from Rio de Janeiro, an arrival in Alagoas is predicted in two hours and forty minutes. From Brasilia, the pace of flight is established in 2h20m, while Salvador is one hour by plane far from Maceio.

The historical heritage and Popular Traditions are something to admire in the small city of Marechal Deodoro – that was the capital of Alagoas in 1817. The most famous beach in the place is Francês. In the North Coast, we can find tranquility and elegance in the perfect destination of the Ecological Route, located only 86 km from Maceió and composed by the small cities of São Miguel dos Milagres, Porto de Pedras and Japaratinga. Away 130km from Maceio, the city of Maragogi is the second major tour- ist destination of Alagoas. The highlights are the Galés of Maragogi and the natural pools, ideal for diving practice. In Addition, several scenarios make up the attractions of the city: fishing village, old mills, plantations of coconut trees, desert beaches, farms with Atlantic Forest trails, preserved rivers and mangroves.
The São Francisco River, one of the most emblematic rivers of Brazil, makes his farewell in Alagoas. Bathing 12 towns and villages, region known as “Caminhos do São Francisco”, the cities are rich in craft and culture. The “Velho Chico” makes his way between canyons and ecological trails. One of the main attractions of the region is the town of Ilha do Ferro, located in the city of Pão de Açucar, which is noticeable by its diverse handicrafts made of wood, coconuts, leather, embroidery, straw and bobbin lace.
